Home learning

At Sauncey Wood Primary School, we believe that we have a responsibility to foster a lifelong love of learning.  As such, from a child’s first days in school, we aim to engender the idea that learning is not confined to school, but enriches all aspects of people’s lives. Our aim is for home learning to consolidate and revise facts, concepts and ideas taught in school. We aim for home learning to be inclusive and accessible for all learners while still allowing time for children to pursue other interests and activities in their free time.

Requirements for homework have been agreed by the staff of Sauncey Wood Primary school. Homework will be checked by teachers and teaching assistants on a weekly basis and any marks (such as spelling or times tables test) will be fed back to parents.

Children will be provided with a homework book and all resources that they need in order to complete any set homework. Children will be rewarded with house points, stickers, celebration certificate and praise for completed homework of a high quality. Children who do not complete their homework will complete it in their break-time and this will be discussed with parents. If a child does not complete their homework on a regular basis, parents/carers will be invited in to discuss ways in which we can support home learning.

Every child at Sauncey Wood will be given a Numbots/Times Tables Rockstar log in as well as a Purple Mash login.  See below for the links that will help consolidate your child’s learning at home.
