Learning Behaviours and Learner Badges.

We have 6 Learning Behaviours that we promote at Sauncey Wood. These behaviours are not just essential to being a good learner but are vital if our children are to Be curious, be kind, be your best, be you!

  • Co-operation
  • Resourcefulness
  • Reflectiveness
  • Perseverance
  • Curiosity
  • Pride

We focus on developing one behaviour each half-term and celebrate children that display the behaviour in our celebration assembly on a Friday. When the children show good learning behaviour, they a house point. When the children have earned a certain number of house points, they are rewarded with a certificate and special badge in our weekly celebration assembly. The certificates and badges progress through four levels (listed below) and our winners are very proud to wear their special learner badges on their uniform all year long.

100 House Points = Bronze Learner

200 House Points = Silver Learner

300 House Points = Gold Learner

400 House Points = Diamond Learner

Each house point is also added to the total of the child's house, meaning that children's good learning benefits their friends as well as themselves. The house with the largest total at the end of each half-term gets to choose a special reward.
