We run a variety of clubs at Sauncey Wood. Some of these run in the day time and others run after school .
We are very lucky at Sauncey Wood to have fantastic playing fields and space that supports a wealth of sporting opportunities. We have a netball, football and rugby team and take part in county and local tournaments for all of these. As well as these, we have a rounders team, cross country team, Kwik cricket team and athletics team. We have a variety of sporting clubs that run throughout the year, such as tennis and dance which are run by outside professionals.
Our children all have 2 PE lessons a week which are led by our PE coach. You can find details of our PE curriculum in the curriculum pages.
We love singing at Sauncey Wood! We have weekly singing assemblies, which the whole school takes part in.
Our choir is made up of Year 4, 5 and 6 children who meet for choir rehearsals weekly. They perform at our end-of-term assemblies as well as being the star attraction at Batford Lights up!
Each year we take part in the Spring Festival at the Eric Morecambe Centre and our younger children in Year 2 take part in the Primary School Music Cluster. We also offer instrument lessons; children have the opportunity to learn the violin and woodwind instruments.
Our Reception, Year 1 and 2 children perform a nativity at the end of the autumn term and our Year 5 and 6 children put on a wonderful end-of-year performance that is always chock-full of fantastic singing and acting!
Each class has biweekly music lessons, and we have a full range of musical instruments that we use to support these lessons.
