Willow is our Specialist Resource Provision.
Pupils in Willow have tailored support and input with higher staffing ratios with a Specialist Teacher. Pupils access an adapted mainstream curriculum and learn through a variety of interventions and strategies. This includes using a range of visual support (Widgit/Makaton/Shape Coding/Visual Coding) and a range of tailored adaptions and schemes. In the mornings we work on our core subjects as well as extra enrichment such as Smart Moves, Art, Cooking Club, EHCP target time and functional skills. Activities and interventions are tailored to needs and interests. Developing emotional literacy and social skills is an integral part of Willow and are learning to use the Zones of Regulation.
In the afternoons, where appropriate, pupils are supported by a member of the Willow team to access their mainstream classes.
Willow is a calm environment and our sensory room, sensory circuit, cosy corner and dark den support regulation skills. Where appropriate pupils are supported by a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist who helps to support needs.
