Welcome to Reception 

Reception is taught by Miss Atkinson and Mrs Mackness.  

In Reception we aim to give children a wonderful start to their educational career! We aim to foster a love of learning and school life. The children will be introduced to phonics and early writing skills through a selection of engaging and exciting books. We use these books to create fun activities that help children learn through purposeful play. Children in Reception have access to a large classroom, a conservatory space and a large Reception playground. We plan for writing and mathematical opportunities outside with a writing and maths shed, water and sand play, a stage and lots of gardening opportunities. Children in Reception also take part in our on-site forest school and love the time down there!
