E-safety Questionnaire- The Results

Thank you to the parents and carers who found time to complete the e-safety Questionnaire. We thought it would be useful to share some of the findings with you.

Q1: 93% of children have access to the internet at home. This confirms the findings of the e-safety survey we carried out with the children in school.

Q2: Most children use a tablet to access the internet at home.

Q3: 80% of children did not know how to use the privacy and security settings on their device- this is something we will continue to work on through our computing teaching and e-safety work in school.

Q4: Children tend to spend between 1-2 hours online with 28%, 2-4 hours had 23%, less than 1 hour had 23% and 4+ hours had 26%.

Q5: A massive 87% of you talk to your children about online safety- a big thank you from us as this is so important in our shared goal of keeping children safe.

Q6: The most popular networking site used by our children is You Tube.

Q7: 90% of you know how to access your security settings on social networking sites showing you are positive role models to the children- again, thank you!

Q8: This question highlighted some areas for us to continuing working on through PD and focused e-safety work- lots of the children knew about Cyber Bullying and Identify Theft but not so much about the other e-safety risks.

Q9: 45% of the our children knew how to report online safety concerns- again we will be reinforcing how to do this in our computing lessons.

Q10: 63% of parents knew what PEGI is.

If you have any questions following this feedback, please do not hesitate to speak a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
