Check your Weather Report...
Ask children to compare their emotions to a type of weather e.g. happy=sunny, stormy= angry. This will allow you to observe your child's present state of mind. We cannot change the weather outside but we can change our feelings about it. For example "I am not the downpour, but I recognise that it is raining and instead of hating the rain, I'm going to dance in it." You can make the weather report a daily chat or just when needed.
