Mindfulness Challenge 1

Make a Mind Jar- the purpose of this activity is to understand your own breathing. Fill an old jar with water almost to the top. Add lots of sequins and glitter or little objects that will float and then settle. Decorate the lid of the jar if desired. When your feel angry or just need 5 minutes break- shake the jar- this illustrates what your mind is like at that moment- your thoughts might be all over the place. Watch as the objects settle and really focus on breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth slowly and calmly. You should feel your mood settle. Remember it is OK to feel mad, upset or angry, it is a part of life, but how we respond can be different. Breathe instead of venting in a negative way.
